BIRDS

English Parakeets Santa Ana December winds freed our English Parakeets! These winds are also called 'Devil Winds' because they are so strong and blow from the desert to the sea. We have obtained four breeding pairs for when the aviary has been reconstructed.

These are two close ups of our now freed English parakeets (about 50% larger than the American ones). In addition, I also have doves in the other half of the aviary (the doves returned). The doves are harder to photograph because they land on my shoulders and head when I walk into their area.

Refer to the Garden Section (Flower Bed Islands) for a full view of the aviary.

This is a sampling of a few to show the color-combinations.

A few more on the perch This is a second shot of our old English parakeets that may show a little more color. I tried to get the aqua parakeet at the bottom to show his colors and face markings a little better but he didn't want to cooperate.

Maybe our new pairs will produce some beautiful color combinations.
